Title sequence - Final Edit

Title Sequence- Final Edit

This is the final edit and final version of our title sequence, The Journey.

Final Thoughts

Final Thoughts

I believe that at the beginning we struggled a lot with time management and sacrifices, we did hardly any work as a group and we failed to do work together but as time progressed we saw that working together was the best way to get work done and get it done to a reasonably high standard. I believe that now we are a much better group and the work that we have produces is much better than we all expected.

As my blogging and evaluation goes i think that at the beginning I did not put in enough work and was on track for failure but then I realised that not putting effort into it will only lead to nothing so I started to work harder and hopefully it will pay of as I believe that overall I have done a good job in both blogging, evaluating and contributing in the group projects whether that be filming or planning

Filming Day 16

On Thursday 13th, Jack and Kaan got the train to White Hart Lane, home of Tottenham Hotspur, to get some footage around the ground and of a poster inside the Spurs shop. We did this because older Jack does sign for his boyhood club, Tottenham and we felt it would be a good idea to include some footage, and an over the shoulder shot, in the title sequence. We took a tripod and camera with us.

Filming Day 15

Filming Day 15

Image result for premier league ballToday I filmed my brother ( who plays younger Jack) watching a football match in the living room on the TV and filming his reaction to the game to get a real sense of the passion that Jack has for the game. I also filmed my brother walking up to a set of trophies that were arranged and sitting in front of famous footballers such as Messi and Neymar, i also placed the ball we used at goals and for the kick ups at the centre of all of this so he can go up to the call, trophies and the pictures and pick up the ball.

Today I filmed my brother (who plays younger Jack) doing kick ups in the garden with the same ball we used when we filmed at goals, then with the footage we are going to get Jack to do the same in my garden again to show narrative and time progressing. the only problem was that the weather was not the best so we may have to film again if it does not suit the title sequence.

Yesterday, Kaan was able to film at his house. he filmed trophies that the younger Jack won and a book that younger Jack drew in and drew the animal that represents the club that Jack supports which is a lion and also had a picture of jack wearing number 15. However there was a problem with the pan of the trophies which is you could see Kaans name on some of them so we may have to re film this and make the shot wider.

Filming Day 12

Filming Day 12

Today we went back to the dance changing rooms. We hung football shirts on the pegs all around the room to create mise en scene. We placed the football shirt with the number 10 directly under the light as it was jacks number when he was younger and his number now that he's signed. We did a pan around the room showing all the shirts until finally stopping at number 10 where we did a over the shoulder shot with jack looking at the shirt. we also got another angle that we could possibly use to add a title on, when we got jack to walk past a few of the shirts then stop at his and stare at his future.

Filming Day 11

Unfortunately our plans for filming throughout the weekend fell through when on Sunday we discovered the tripod we rented out was faulty so we tried to film jacks football match with a handheld camera. The footage came out very fuzzy and shakey so we couldn't use it. Also on Sunday my mum was going to film my younger brothers football match as he plays the younger jack in our film. Unfortunately due to lack of consent from the other kids and their parents playing in the match, we did not have permission to film. We have come up with a new filming schedule in which we hope to get all the footage we will need by next Friday.

Filming Day 10

Filming Day 10

Today we will film on our schools huge football field. Conveniently Jack had to teach a year 8 PE class so we will film the kids playing a football match as if it was young Jack playing football in his unprofessional football club before the fame with all his peers.

Filming Day 9

Filming Day 9

Image result for changing roomsToday we went back to the dance changing rooms and filmed Jack taking all his new shiny football equipment out of his expensive training bag. We laid it out in a line and filmed across the clothes so titles can appear on them.

The camera was sometimes out of focus and blurry therefore we may need to redo some of the scenes.

Filming Day 8

Filming Day 8

Today Jack and Kaan went to the same dance changing rooms that Tolani, Jack and I went to yesterday and they were able to film the footage that we were unable to film which was Jack taking out the kit he received when he signed his contract. They used the exact same equipment that we used before which was a light, a tripod, a dolly and a camera. they also re-filmed what we shot yesterday because there is a skylight and when we went it was closed and when Jack and Kaan went it was open which let more light in, which actually made it look a lot better and lighter.

Filming Day 7

Filming Day 7

Tolani, Jack and I went to the dance changing rooms to film Jack walking into the changing room and sitting down. We also wanted to film Jack unpacking his kit he received when signing his contract but we ran out of time.

We filmed the same type of tracking shot that we did in the football changing rooms, however instead of scruffy football boots Jack was wearing smart loafers as it isn't long after he's just signed his football contract.

We brought additional lighting to the changing rooms with one set of lights to make filming brighter as when we shot in the football changing rooms it was quite dark however we thought we'd keep that dark footage to represent the darkness and grit and roughness of his life then.

Unfortunately due to time we were unable to film everything we wanted to film.

Filming Day 6

Filming Day 6

Today we filmed a kid in a younger year just to sign a contract that looked like he made so it shows that the young jack always dreamed of signing a football contract for Tottenham and it it shows that from a very young aged he was always hard working and committed to fulfilling his dreams. We made sure our drawings and handwriting was messy and immature so it seems like a young boy did it. We are also thinking about maybe incorporating some credits onto it.

Filming Day 5

Filming Day 5

We found a new location to film Jack sign his contract for Tottenham. Kaan, Jack and Tolani went into a computer room and cleared a desk in the centre of the room, because there were still computers around the room, to avoid making the setting not look like a convincing office/meeting setting, we did an over the shoulder shot of jack signing the contract and also a birds eye view shot of the contract which we captured by Kaan standing over jack on a chair.

Filming Day 4

Filming Day 4

Unfortunately I was unable to attend school when Kaan went to the school changing room and filmed the changing room and the environment of them. The floors were muddy and dirty which is perfect for what we are trying to achieve with Jack starting of poor and disadvantaged to a rich young professional. I also think that it is good that the changing room looks quite crowded and compact.

it make it like convincing that he is just a poor boy and nothing special.

Filming Day 3

Filming Day 3

This is the contract that we used for Jack to sign for Tottenham. we got it from searching 'Football contract template'. This is the contract that we saw Jack sign in the scene.

Filming Day 3

Filming Day 3

Today Jack and Tolani went to the school library to film Jack signing his contract for Tottenham, they printed of a fake football contract and took a number of different shots such as close ups and behind the shoulder.
Unfortunately we cannot use this footage as in contains mis-en-scene that does not look like a place that a player would sign his contract. Also the footage is really dark and it is meant to be a happy moment in the title sequence so it should be bright and lit up.
We are looking for another location that we can film this scene in so it looks realistic and we will us lights to make sure that is is bright and looks like a happy event in the title sequence.

Filming Day 2

Filming Day 2

Today me, Tolani and Kaan shot medium wide shots in order to establish setting. We filmed our school football pitch which looks quite rough and deserted to show where he first started playing football before becoming rich and playing on expensive professional looking astro turf football pitches. This shows that our protagonists start in life was in a poor neighbourhood and he didn't have much. It shows the financial and social struggle he faces along with him being alone and feeling lonesome.

Filming Day 1

Filming Day 1

On the first day of filming Kaan and I knew of a perfect location that will show that Jack started from nothing with very low quality pitch and not so good goals. So went to goals in Bexleyheath to film
my brother portraying a young jack.

We went to Goals on Thursday 21st of February we arrived at 5 pm when we arrived we started experimenting with the pitch and angles of where we wanted to get shots from. it took us around 30 minutes to setup in a way we believed we would get the best and most interesting shots. Then we began to film at around 5:30 pm we started just be filming simple shot of my brother dribbling and taking shots against the keeper.

After about 20-30 minutes of filming that we tried to switch up the shot and started filming my brother taking shots from further away to get variation in the shots. We are still missing footage of my brother playing against another team in a real match.
